Fields of Glory

I cannot keep count on the number times I have to feel sorry for neglecting this space. Blogging is a young person's thing.. we say it like we're in our 30s lugging diaper bags and stuff. but hey, i'm still surviving here and lucky you, you get a piece of me when I'm in the mood.

I'm kidding.

Just last month, we visited Holland again! That's my 2nd time there and this time round we experienced it in a whole different light. Spring time was such a be-autiful thing with all the dear-ol tulips blooming in full glory. Looking at the photos now still takes half my breadth away...

Was brought to this pretty field owned by Patricia's friend on day 1. These are supposed to be experimental fields where he tests new breeds. We're really privileged and blessed to be able to see them from a non-touristy point of view..

He was sooo nice he kept plucking stalks off along the way for us to bring home <3 span="">
Love this pic I took for bee amongst rows and rows of tulips.
mommy was so stoked she has to take some pictures herself!
Those pops of colours are so spoiling my eyes....
I love love love this peony-looking breed!

A girl is always happy when given flowers. Especially freshly plucked ones that are bigger than your fist. haha..

Day 2
My dad and Willem came back from Houston on day 2 and Willem took us for another round of Tulip-tour around their neighbourhood. this time illegally. haha.

I kid you not, they smell sssweeeeet!

This was the first time my dad got up close with so much tulips. We already had our turn the day before but these were some seriously huge fields we found.

My fave "strawberry-shortcake" colour! whoop whoop!!

Always into something different(:
So, so so RED. and don't you just adore the blue skies?
After feeding our eyes with flowers, we visited a market fare tucked in the old neighbourhood where Patricia's parents lived. I'm really bad at names of the places :/ Anyhoots, we fed our tummies too with some street snacks!
I gotta say they sell the freshest, tastiest stroopwaffels everrrr......

daddy examining the stacked cheese by the stall. Dutch cheese is really world-class if you're wondering ;)
We had a quick coffee at this local bakery that was about to close but they were sooo friendly they let us in even though they were packing up.

They won the best cake award apparently but pity we didn't get to try...

another thing to rave about is these amazingly roasted peanuts!! when you start you really can't stop.  not bought from the bakery though... was one of the street stalls at the fare. we were munching away everywhere we went.

Day 3 - Keukenhof
Once in a lifetime: we were told that this was the ONLY year that all the different types of flowers are blooming together in Holland. Never before and we were that lucky.

Truly, the prettiest garden in the world I must say. The entire park was decorated with a fresh green undertone.

Hello!

dad can easily pull off as a foreign worker over there. hahahaa.
Goofball 1: Bee's Beatles' moment.

Goofball 2: The English Assassin

Getting in touch with nature...literally. LOL.

..and behold the Sakura series!!!

This is a highly dangerous stunt i'm pulling here fyi. If you didn't know, many many years ago when i was still in my teens, I had an extremely traumatizing episode with this plant. I am allergic to a certain substance from it and a part of my face swelled real bad. I leave you to imagine which part but here I am so stoked at seeing them in reality and I could hardly resist because they are soooooo pretty!!!! Thank god the allergy is only due to ingestion.

my pretty mom looking like a 20 year old here ;)
Little Skip sneaking in a cameo on my mom and dad. Look at his fashion forward mint green skinnies!

Fancy a dresser in the garden?

Bee in motion, light as air. hahaha.

See. flower. must. smell.
look at the canopy of freshest green trees everrr.

Tulips in deep purple! too pretty!

Credits dad for this candid shot of us ;)

too much... too overwhelmed.

And that's all for day 1 and 2.. I have thousands of photos but if I were to put everything up your eyes will get sore from the flowers...lol. I myself get a little nauseous from it...

This trip was pretty short, we spent the rest of the 2 days in Amsterdam...photos on the next post!

Looking back at these gorgeous photos just helped kill my midweek blues ;)
